Excellent result on the pipes and rear panel Paul.

Did halfords scan any part of your car to get a perfect match...faded paint ect, or just mix a new batch from the code?
Very interesting what goes in the colours. I have to paint my boot lip at some point, so god knows what is going to go in that mix! ..I can only imagine!

So our related cars will meet at the National. Brilliant. Best of luck with the MOT.

And it is a good match. Interesting. I must pay a visit...only I think the Gloucester one might be better. Annoyingly!

And............ she failed... :(

Brakes.. off side binding badley.. service brake un even.
Strut leak off return pipe split and was leaking
Side repeater lamp not working.. how the heck i missed that i dont know

Advise
Oil leak from above the turbo
Exhaust minor leak
Some floor rust
Corroded fuel pipes.. it is actually light pitting which a sand down and under seal should sort out.

I think with the brakes the near side service brake was low and the off side on the parking brake was low. I think its the off side cable. Ill give the front calipers a bleed through..

Its NOT the brake valve pivot under the scuttle thats the first thing i checked..

Oh no! That's a shame...but at least it sounds that you can sort those failure issues out quite quickly.
Typical brakes. always brakes and bulbs

Do you think the oil leak is the cam seal...or actual turbo pipes? Anyway advisories can be done properly in your own time.
I assume the rust is just surface rust.

I don't want to mention this, but I shall ;) ...that now makes 3x 2.1 MOT failures from the 2.1 club in the last month. This is not going well!!

Plenty of time yet till the National Paul! :D

Nothing you cannot sort out! Don't forget it isn't exactly a mint example it's an old lady so to say! :)Didn't you notice anything out of order on the brakes...binding brakes I would imagine you would notice..

Depends how subtle it is maybe. When mine were binding, they really did...but it was down to the brake pivot jamming the darn things on.
Will recently fixed his rear binding brakes and I believe they were only slight.

As you say Jaap. They are old dears now!

Obviously not, or else I wouldn't of put the car in for test!! :?

The car had a small delay between the pedal touch and brakes comming on, but really, this car has stood a few years, Ive dragged it out of hiding fitted disks and pads front and rear and thats it!

On the trip back I paid more attention to the brakes, and could then feel a slight and I mean EVER SO SLIGHT pull when applying the brakes!

When I got back to the farm, the off side disk was virtually on fire! The caliper was holding on, though the hand brake lever IS releasing, and the slide bar is not siezd either.

I think its a caliper fault, Ill swap it in the week for another... then do a good front caliper bleed though.

Oh, and shes DOES need a clutch. Turbo Power caused a bit of slipping... well, quite a bit, though the sticking front brake wont of helped that much either...
