Heater box has two 10mm bolts in the engine bay plus one central screw inside from the top (often hidden under black foam).
The 10mm bolts have expanding rubber sections to lock into holes in the heater box.
Sometimes the box just pulls off, mostly it cracks the plastic if you pull with out undoing the bolts.
Dash has four 13mm bolts in the back of the front scuttle.
Another two bolts lower down in the engine bay for the pedal box.

Hi Neil.. I do think the "Roof" is in the same place and the front section could be modifed for the Roof Console..
Anyway. Its currently being kept flat, hopefully safe..
Small progress today in the heat. I dont do heat very well..
Got the exhaust off with a struggle with one of the exhaust bolts.. so thats out the way, and serviceable too..
next rear subframe.. unfortunally, or maybee fortunally with the descision to break, the front to rear pipes were a bit rotton.. to be expected I guess..
So the close of today..

Though, I also had a closer look at the drivers strut top too, the upper "Cup" under the bonnet was rather rotton, and I expected to have done a top change..
For you pleasure: (This is a Video, click to see, BUT tell me how do I get it here directly! I use Photobucket)

Yuk, that strut top is totally John Lydon!
Oddly fascinated by the rear subframe lying there, even though I know what one looks like already.

I know what you mean Rohan. I know I have inspected mine, but it is useful seeing one off the car. There's less to it it seems.
yikes...that strut top is not a nice sight. I would imagine that would make a right racket if driven....and not to mention the party piece of buckled bonnets!

It does seem like such a singular piece of metal there, even though I know it isn't really. Is it weird to find it aesthetically pleasing??

Re: How an XM Should be dismantled for spares....(Pg 4 onwar
The strange thing it its all hollow.. yet styled for strength.. and the best bit the trailing arms are also hollow ALLOY arms for reduced weight.. nothing like the xantia arms.m a rear wheel bearing swap is soo easy after stripping the disk and caliper off which also do NOT suffer the alloy corrosion problem like xantias.. the rear bearing is bolted on with about 7 or 8 six mm allen heads and then it popes out of the arm.. none of this bearing is destroyed when removing. This actually means the bearings are interchangeable on the xm unlike xantias... so brilliant.
Ive a feeling they are the same as cx rear arms but ive not been able to confirm this yet..

If it was a Youtube video Paul it'd just be a case of putting part of the address in the (youtube)(/youtube) tags (with square brackets).citroenxm wrote:For you pleasure: (This is a Video, click to see, BUT tell me how do I get it here directly! I use Photobucket)
Don't think you can embed a Photobucket video on here without the forum having some tweaks (more [tags] need adding for other videos).
