Re: 1991 V6-24v
Ah...Matthew beaten me to it....here goes anyway!
I believe Will has been up and driven this car. He said it drove very well, but as the ad says, the rear subframe has dissolved and there is no Vin plate, ....rusted away. And then you have the sills.
The interior is not the tidiest either, trim missing ect, but those with the bits and bobs could sort that out no sweat.

Re: 1991 V6-24v
Theres a lot to swap.. front subframes are unique.. as are the front strut feed pipes.. but if you have it all then fine..
There if the tct is an auto theres a pedal box to swap over and thats not a doddle either.. look at my dismantle blog.. would average joe goto that extent or just get the car welded?? Look at the welding i did on my own 24v that would of finished anyone.. so i guess i look at it differently in that any sort of welding is not a serious issue to me now with what ive had to do...

Re: 1991 V6-24v
A re-shell would be the best bet, but a lot of work, and is it really worth it when many of the S1 24V aficionados have sourced proper rust free cars from Europe which despite being LHD offer DIRAVI which more than makes up for the lack of RHD, not that being LHD is a big problem for me at least.

Re: 1991 V6-24v
The German cars especially, aren't bad value for money. Unlike Jaap's Dutch example posting in another thread costing more than a handful of C5 or C6 V6 cars!

Re: 1991 V6-24v
I think the fact that the current owner has already spent several thousand pounds on the car and then recently purchased another fully sorted lhd for £8,000 says quite a lot. If you want a nice 24v and have the money to spend you would be much better off buying one abroad. I hate to say it but even among rare 24v there are some cars that just might not be worth saving!! Regards, Matthew T. PS. I was really sorry we did not get to speak properly at the National Paul but you were rater engrossed and when I looked around later you had departed!

Re: 1991 V6-24v
I totally endorse Robert's comments, or otherwise you could buy Patrick Rugg's car for £3,500 and save yourself the hassle of shipping!

Having said that after checking Moto.De there are no S1 24v listed at present.
With regards, Matthew T.

Re: 1991 V6-24v
Sorry Paul I just had another look and there are indeed two currently listed on Moto.De for 2,100e and 3,400e, as follows:
http://suchen.mobile.de/auto-inserat/ci ... LSO_EXPORT
http://suchen.mobile.de/auto-inserat/ci ... LSO_EXPORT
The later and more expensive car with the part suede interior and more standard appearance is more appealing to me.
With regards,
Matthew T.
