Manual ones are rarer as Paul said, also most are Lucas epic pumps so not found of anything but good diesel fuel :( one reason I've avoided them ;)

My point was about finding manual gearbox cars.

I agree will (dm) .. and will (kp) mentioned pumps..

Autos most common except in early g h j reg cars with lucas mechanical.. autos started with bosch mechanical pumps.. and almost all were.. the last two K plate cars were both bosch and manual.

Auto's are a lot easier to find, especially Series 2 cars. If all else fails, go and see Malcolm at savoy and take the high mileage auto out for a spin. In other countries, 215k miles is seen as low mileage for these cars and that one has had a replacement engine now.

Autos also a bit thirstier and so much slower though but good for those who aren't bothered by such things and look after the auto box's with fluid changes then all good but for me the autobox is only bearable in 2 scenarios.
1. In a left hooker
2. In the Rangie as there is no manual option in the 2002-onward models

And thats it. :D
