Thanks for the advice, I will do that in the not so far future! I take it your split pipe was because of rust there where you could not see it before lowering the sub frame?

No the split was on a thicker pipe from the Anti Sink Sphere. The pipe looked good along the rest of it with no rust.. but had developed a virtical split...

When offering up MAKE SURE THE FRAME is inline with the Mount Bolts Holes on the car!!! The can go out of line easyilly and cross thread the bolts!!!
Just loosen the o/s bolts but leave them just in and the subframe will line up as you jack it back up. ;)

Yea, that should count for lowering it though... but as the nearside is so low, cant always get at the other side bolts, unless they are slackened BEFORE lowering the car...

By low on the opposite side, I only support the car on ONE side, so the car leans over to one side..

Looking forward to the 2.1 diesel moving up the queue! The V6 is lovely but my petrol bill is horrid...
When I finally get round to filling mine up again, I'll post up the mpg. It's pretty good, especially since it's been driven hard across country this last tank.
I ASK you NOT to Will.. It will upset charles, and put EVEN MORE pressure on me, Ive enough as it is..

THANKYOU.. ;)
LOL. I'm sure Charles would rather know... :D

I filled up today and absolutely brimming it took 76 litres...and 761 miles...

So, 10 miles to a litre means 45.5mpg, but I have really been gunning it this tank, so overall I'm happy.

I've driven it another 250 miles today and I love it.

Hi Dman, odometers are notoriously optimistic in their readout, anything up to 15% - never pessimistic !. The station pump is calibrated. Therefore knock say 10% off, that'll bring it down to around 9 m/l, a much more real life number of 40'ish mpg ? But, for day to day comparisons I don't suppose it really matters.

I think you are wrong. Speedometers may legally read up to 10% fast, but odometers are pretty accurate due to being simply gear driven.

Comparing it to my other cars and Sat-nav, the Odo reading seems to be accurate and this car definitely manages 10mpg more than my other brand of car.

Id agree with Dman, The early Lucas Manual cars REALLY are truely amazing on fuel for the age and 45 plus is quite easilly obtainable!!!

This was my Bosch equipped car, which I find generally more efficient than the Lucas one.
