Selling off one (or bits

) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

Who is this then, another shiteist?
Rommel: It looked like a bit of a bargain to me as well, especially with the recent work.
I'll let you all know how I get on with it after I pick it up.

In the boot should be the aerosol I had matched up by a paint factor (£22!) to do the nosecone together with replacement bellows for the cruise.
Didn't do the jobs in the end. Ideally wants a cone and bumper swap to make it all true and tidy as it had a knock (Well if you can't clout your own wall on your own land, what can you do...)

Ok, so this is available again. I've not really gelled with the car and am losing my job on Friday
I've not done much to it except drive it, fix the aerial and stick 6 months tax on it, so it has T&T until the end of Feb 2014.
It now owes me roughly £800, which is what I'd like to see for it - I'm located in Lincs, between Lincoln & Grantham.

Sorry to hear about your job. That is a good price and someone should snap it up!
Incidentally why do you feel you didn't bond with it?

I don't really know why I didn't bond with the car. I find some cars I get on with and some I don't.
I test drove an XM last year and wasn't convinced then, so didn't buy that one. I thought maybe I just needed to drive one more, so I bought this and have done about 2500 miles in it, but it's just not me.
I had the same thing with a Saab 900 (T16s of course) I'd wanted one for years, bought one and then never really got on with it. The XM and 900 are both cars I've wanted since I was a kid and it's rather annoying to find I don't particularly enjoy driving them.

give me a call and i will bring it back home here.
£400.00.
we looked after this car for around 8 years and it served our customer well.
It breaks my heart to see it moved about just for fun.

Fair enough.....and yes that must be a bummer finding out that your ideals and reality don't match. I hope it goes to a good home.

That will always be the case with older cars as they aren't in as new condition so not only show any weaknesses, but also the scars of old age.
It's taken me until now to get to a point where I'm happy with the suspension on my Cobalt one, but the work isn't over yet.

Very true, many times you will hear people moaning about older cars in relation to things like suspension, ride quality etc (not Citroëns). You then ask have they done simple things like renew important rubber bushes etc. The answer is very often NO.
However I bet in Skattrd's case he simply didn't like the XM as much as he thought he would- I think that car was fairly well-maintained.....
