Spare wheel carrier

Hi All,
Just replaced the spare wheel and the carrier has fallen in pieces where the roller bar is across the middle it tor right out when pushing the wheel back in, So i need a replacment carrier for my estate does anyboby know if the car and estate versions are the same.

Hi Norman,

I think they are different. I remember trying to fit a car one to an estate in the past and failed.

As I remember the difference is small and easily resolved with a hammer.
All the rotten thin metal plate falls off when you do this.
So the new one then totally matches the one you have just removed because all the thin metal plate is falling off.
Good condition spare wheel carriers are very rare.

The estate and saloon wheel carriers are different Norman and from my memory not that easy to transfer. I had a good estate one but I think it got binned unfortunately as I did not see myself ever using it!! Regards, Matthew T.

Hi, How bad is it could you post a picture and where abouts are you?

I'm in Stoke on Trent, so quite a way. Worse than that the car is in Birmingham so I can't easily get any pics of it!
