Great news! Train to far far far far far etc away is about to be booked. I think the journey home should be much more comfortable though!

From about 430 there isn't much to see but black skies, rain, and sometimes the stars lol

My plan is to catch the train up from London on the 12th at lunchtime (tied up before then), stay the night in Holyhead and hopefully have a chance to see one of the Edward I castles on the way home (Beaumaris I suspect) before the sun goes down (XMs not being my preferred mode of transport in pitch darkness!). These clock thingies going back has not helped the cause!

I fear Manchester takes me a bit too far out of the way unless there is a sensible meeting place further over?

Charles,

In sensible trip home fashion to get the M6 you wont be too far from manchester, but, no, you wont be going that far,

I think beaumaris castle may be too far out the way. You be better going to Conwy Castle, its nearer the expressway by about 10 mins, where Beaumaris will be about 20 mins each way!

Thanks Paul - every minute counts at the moment.

I think a proper tour of North Wales has to be done at some point soon. I've been rained on enough in South Wales over the years visiting relatives, so different scenery needed!

Thanks Charles,

I'll be in Runcorn that day so only a few minutes away from the motorway.

I only need one it two small bits from Paul but was more for taking 3-4 car batteries back to Paul after conditioning them :)

Will work another way out for them to get back :)

Are you heading back near CitroJims at all?

At some point yes - I am going to photograph Jim's XM. He's on the way back but not sure quite where.
