Jim...what are you doin???!!! Seriously best of luck with the sale. Such a shame you are letting it go, but I can vouch for its drivability. It really is a great car so someone will get a fab car.
I could even forgive the dash myself...your version is definitely my fave mk2 combo of colour and trim....not to mention engine.

I sometime wonder Russ  Especially after driving it again yesterday. Needs must but if there's no offers then she may well stay...

We'll see...

The car is only going to a good home, not just anywhere..

Jim if i could have her and stop restoring these things then i would do :(

Good luck with the sale and if she is going to a good home then ebay and the likes are out of the question though maybe the CCC would help as well if you could come up with a price which im sure you would get in the circa £1500-2000range.

Absolutely Will. Ebay and the like are right out. CCC is a possibility though. Wonder if that one for nearly £7K ever sold? If that’s the going rate them mine's easily worth £2 especially if I get the rust sorted and a new MOT...

So, good home only or she stays...

I would try Car and Classic Jim - on the whole it tends to be classic sellers buyers rather than ebay chancers and more credible as a result.

Isn't there ANYBODY out there willing to sort out that rust issue for CitroJim?

After all, he's given so much brilliant advice to so many peoples. I was really wondering. A bit of welding can be nice to do, you know :)

And that's what I meant with pics Jim, to give people an idea what the problem is and how big. No one knows yet..it might help!
Welding a sill isn't that problematic, is it? I'll be going to up my welding skills again on a sub frame soon which is something I'm not looking forward to.

I hope some one will give it a Saturday so Jim can keep going in that V6! (not that I am trying to talk you out of it Jim, not at all :) ) I do seem to remember you were planning selling the XM recently.

After driving it again yesterday Jaap it really won't take a lot of talking out of it :) I almost have to be perfectly honest... Yesterday almost did it. Shall I let heart rule head and try to keep all three?

I know Paul will sort the rust for me but we have a perennial problem of mutually good timings and getting it organised. Last time we had it arranged I had leave cancelled at the last moment and had to abandon plans

Maybe try again?

Apart from that problem she's good in all other respects and should walk an MOT..

Well Jim...I'll do my best then:) If you want me to think about the problem, feel free to pb me :)
Just think SMART.:)

Always follow your heart but let sense rule of course and never let others (especially) therapists make your decisions, is what comes to my mind. And always avoid possible regrets! I'm certain Paul is the better welder but I'd do it for you, no problem. Getting it organised, maybe that, is, the problem? Try again maybe!?!

If I had to reduce to 2, I'd keep one of each, just for the sake of variety? I'd keep the Activa definitely, plus the XM. Having recently become owner of one like yours Jim, the XM ES9J is such an accomplished car. And yours seems to behave now you've fixed the gremlins it had when you bought it...

I think that's what I would do, have a Xantia and the XM for variety. Is the XM any more thirsty that the V6 Xantia.....

Only issue there is your new numberplate Jim. :? ....
Also, this might not be the greatest time to sell a car, what with Christmas next month....sorry for the reminder!
