Hi: It´s 152543. I got that number from the mechanic and it´s listed on the part for sale. I am awaiting the arrival of the item now. Breath is baited.

That price is pretty much what Citroen France wanted and is in line with the one from my mechanic. I´ve ordered one for £21, new. Time will tell whether it´s too good to be true.

i just did a goooogly search with that part No.,
and t seems to me its a bit like the ford fiest in tank pump/sender unit,

i replaced one of these on a fiesta for one of my customers a while ago,

in my search for the fiesta pump the complete unit was going to cost around £220, but i discovered you can buy just the pump on its own, with this car the pump cost about £60, on doing the job i had to remove the pump/sender unit, drill a pop rivet out that held the pump to the sender, fit new pump, re/rivet and re/assemble,

this might be why/how you have found the new pump so cheap

I am hoping there is no catch to this. The mechanic has sent back the Citroen part and I don´t think he likes doing work that is particularly creative. That´s not unusual for around here. The more time goes by the more nervous I become that this won´t work out and I´ll have to go through the whole messy process from scratch.

i wouldnt worry unduly as the fiesta one i did was very easy once a had overcome the rusty/seized bolts holding the tank up,

removing the pump from the sender was just one pop rivet and a hose clamp,

it realy was that simple,

can you post a picy of the pump/listing of the one you have bought,

I haven´t got the goods yet so I can´t offer a photo.
Partsland Classics is quoting £100 for a non-Citroen part and £182 for a Citroen part.
The difference between the price I´ve paid for the part (luckily just £18) and the next cheapest is still pretty big. I wonder what I will be sent in the post!

I suspect that what you have bought is similar to ebay item 140912062602.
I have bought XM bits from these people and was pleased with the items (gas struts).
The pump will need to be fitted to your existing sender and your mechanic may not like doing that job.
If you get problems the full sender is available secondhand on ebay.
171170239258 currently £10 plus p&p.
390697844540 currently £17.50 plus p&p.
Both sellers are members on here and one travels regularly to Europe for work.

Here is the pump, still in its packaging. The device is Polish. Fiat have a plant in Poland and I know some Fiats use these parts so I suppose it´s a generic version of the Fiat pump which is the same as the Citroen one.
