What do the collective think of these Ronal Aeros? Here's what they look like on a Merc, anyone clever enough to do a quick photoshop onto a black XM saloon a la Russ?

Thanks Charles :D ...I can have ago for you. They might work nicely. Gives the car a stealth look! :D

I have popped them on my black illustration. Not sure if they are the right size, but not much bigger than the original alloy size. Look quite good. might be better without the text on the inner ring. Quite similar to the Italia alloys. 8-)

Thanks Russ! The text is an irritant, so I think that rules them out (plus they are very German!).

Hi all

Lately my mind has been wondering, wondering about AMG Monoblock 17" rims, with a polished lip
Not sure how the xm would wear them and they are fierce expensive, even more so if they dont look right but i may take the plunge in the new year.

Image

im even thinking of having them painted to match the car and leaving the diamond cut lip to tie in with the chrome bumper trim................not that ive thought about it much you understand

Actually Dean, they might work... I quite like those on the face of it.. Need to see them on an XM though to be sure.

A good photoshopper is needed to do a mock-up before spending anything just to get the idea...

Those wheels suit the xm really well imo. Far nicer than a lot of the other aftermarket alloys designs.

I have a set of monoblocks on my 190 2.5 16. They are lovely wheels, but so engrained as Mercedes in my mind that I don't much like the notion of them on other cars. I prefer them in silver on that look - in black or dark grey they match a like coloured car brilliantly!

I rather like the look of these Borbet BS5 wheels - black but with silver facing.

I think the all silver version looks better on silver cars:

(I really wish there were more XM photos with non-standard wheels out there!)
