Club-XM Window stickers

Post by russ92xmsed » Tue Jan 07, 2014 5:06 pm

Last year when I was creating the engine bay and COTY stickers, I think someone suggested would I be interested in revisiting the idea of a Club XM car window sticker.
So I thought why not, lets find out if people are still interested in this idea :D I would like one myself.

I want to start a complete fresh. I know some other designs were floating about a while ago, but got nowhere unfortunately. So I have created four fresh new designs to kick start some sort of design process that hopefully will result in a sticker design that everyone is happy with.

Now I will explain a little about the designs. We all know that the Tax disc is being phased out. So that leaves a handy little place for a club sticker. I can imagine some of you will be pleased to loose the tax disc and have a clear screen, but also knowing that many on here don't want all their windows cluttered with stickers...me included..... I think the tax disc position might be a neat solution. Also I will insist on it being a window cling sticker like the COTY stickers and tax disc holders, so it can easily be removed if desired...or moved around the car.

I have kept the designs relatively simple on purpose, using very simple colour palate to keep them relatively discreet. Some designs have more information than others. My idea with them all was to create a design that Citroen might have used and issued these stickers themselves. I have kept away from any images of the cars on purpose. If these stickers are going in car windows, then its going to be attached to an XM anyway. And if only a Series one car is shown, then S2 and estates owners will be left out.... and thats not fair to them. So I have kept to the fonts used for the boot badges instead. It solves the issue nicely as it includes every car, model, spec ect...

So please have a look, discuss, suggest, decide if you want one or not. If there is enough interest then I will have some printed anyway.
My idea is to try and get them designed, printed and issued at the X rally. Prices will be confirmed closer to printing.

Great work Russ, although I am sorry to say that my favourite is 'D' followed by 'C'!! I like your ideas of a replacement for the tax disc and just sticking to text in the design. Is there also going to be a sticker for this Forum as I must admit I do not now visit Club XM? Best regards, Matthew T.

The idea was to replace rather than hold the tax disc Paul and I actually prefer 'D' followed by 'B'!! Regards, Matthew T.

That's right, the final sticker will replace / fill the space left by the tax disc. So it will not be a tax disc holder. It will display the image out of the windscreen for all to see! But being a window cling sticker you can put it anywhere in the car and move it about if you want.

This is helpful seeing what you like...don't be afraid to suggest any changes or additions.
My fave is D. I rather like the XM script background.
But that's not me trying to steer people towards that particular design. :D

This sticker is for this forum Matthew. The only difference between the two forums is this one is .uk were as the original one is .com....they are both club-XM.
So the small difference is in the website address, which is clear to see on all the designs.

I prefer "D". The scripted XM is OK for Series 2 cars, but not Series 1.

Excellent work once again Russ. :) I'm liking 'B' & 'D'. Although my preference would be 'D' in a letterbox format if possible.

My preference is C but without the Series 1 Series 2 Hatch Estate on it. If you're wanting to keep it simple . . . ;)
