Myself and fellow BX'er Paul Handley have organised this years X rally. If this is successful, with a good attendance, then Paul and myself will look into arranging the CXM rally 2014.

Mark,
Your organising of the X rally is very much appreciated.
My life is a bit too full of other issues at present to be able to offer any assistance. (sounds cheesy and typical, but I really can't help at the moment)

Patrick and Franklin have done a fantastic job of organising the rallies and in hindsight their efforts have been under-appreciated.

I must echo what Will has said, Mark - yourself and Paul's efforts for the X Rally I am sure are appreciated by all.

However I feel I should point out the CXM is a different kettle of fish to that of the X Rally, a 3 day event as opposed to a one day-meeting really takes so much more work as you can imagine. Personally as yourself and Paul are running the X Rally you shouldn't be doing the CXM, I don't think it's right that it'll be left to a couple of people, others should step up. The other thing with the CXM is that you've got the field hire so that's at least £350 that's got to be found which is the difference from the one day event at Burghley... Then there's the palava of catering and all that malarkey etc...

Personally, the CXM should be renamed, rebranded and relocated, not even sure if Little Horwood would be available for dates as they were being most unhelpful with dates and the price increase when we contacted them. A three day event is too much for one or two people to do, hence why Dom and I won't do it - and therefore why yourself and Paul shouldn't do it. With the lack of volunteers in mind it needs to be scaled down to a manageable scale. Why not hold another X Rally in August at Burghley House? That way you could combine it with the Fine Food Fair being held there on Sun 24th August? That way you wouldn't need the field cost for that of Little Horwood. Or another X Rally at another location which won't incur field hire fees? One to think over...

See how the X Rally goes, Mark, and perhaps by then once it's been in the Citroenian more folk will have stepped up.

I still think an XM Section/Group of the CCC would be a go-er, but either way a large event like a CXM-Rally of sorts should not be left to a couple of people as that's just not fair.
