Re: CitroJim's ES9 V6 Exclusive
Seems I'm back
I was shorly going to make a return to active participation but the failure of the main production server for the FCF and BXC and a need to bring the contingency servers up and into live action at my place have made my reappearance somewhat earlier than planned...
I can see I have a lot to catch up on...
Happenings here are few on the car front. Life has been concerned with getting/keeping fit, work, cooking and karate with just a bit of car fun for good measure.
I'm now very fit indeed and have lost my fat gut at long last. Not sure where it is but if I never find it again I'll not worry. I'm under 11 stone now. I work out very hard indeed these days. I swim every morning (just got back from a long swim in fact), work out with cross trainer and weights every evening and practice karate twice a week. I've passed my first grading and I'm now a blue belt. Next grading in July.
I eat only food prepared from scratch and never anything processed unless I'm eating out..
Work is keeping me very busy and I'm working long hours again but still have Wednesdays off.
On the car front, the XM is great, has been a paragon of reliability and is now resting up for summer. It has worked hard through the winter with may runs to Somerset but never once has it faltered and everything still works.
The Activa is out of hibernation and has been troublesome. It needed a new lover swivel, a driveshaft boot replace and a new wishbone due to an unexplained problem with the old one and replacement front bush. I found some NOS Activa wishbones on ebay and snapped them up.
That was all very well but then I had to level it. That took me three goes over two days!
The V6 Xantia just goes on and on and has just passed the MOT with a clean sheet. Not before swapping the brake flexi hoses though and that was a major task, especially on the nearside where there's a bloody great gearbox in the way.
The main thing is that all the jobs I've done myself and that shows how things are now. Last year no way could I have done all that and came up smiling...
I'm not fully cured though as come 8PM I'm dead and usually in bad...
That's all for now. I shall be catching up in due course...
That may take some time!

It seems to be keeping it at bay now Jaap... I dare not stop doing what I do just in case it all comes back... I'd hate for that to happen so I keep working hard at keeping it in its place!captainhaddock wrote:Indeed good to hear! I suppose I could but I don't want to either Jaapcaptainhaddock wrote: it seems I can do a 2.1 head gasket....In theory I suppose I could but I DO NOT WANT TO

I have a challenge coming up at some point. Two of us WFA members need to replace a 2.5 clutch. Been having a lot of fun with the old 2.5 estate recently. Goes well and for a few weeks now it's been running 100% veg oil. It's giving us lots of problems though and currently it's drinking water like a fish due to a leaky rad or two...
What's the problem Jaap? I can do ABS fairly well..captainhaddock wrote:ABS I'll never master...
