It seems to me that the 2 Xantias have colluded to set-up the XM.

Quite a good idea, I've been in Malaga driving my ol' GS from Ireland! So with a passport Jim, you can do this to in the new and ultra reliable and also economical C1 and I will ask White Exec if we're welcome there too. I don't mind some sun shine! I'll take the Diesel and bring the Captain! How about it Jim!? I feel a nice XM meeting starting here and since you're an expert fiddling with pumps I will just ask you to overhaul my XM and I will watch and learn! :) What colour have you chosen?

Both Xantias have now comprehensively destroyed any trust I once had in them and the XM I never really trusted 100% anyway... I'm the sort that once I loose trust in something or someone, that's it, game over. It takes me for ever to regain any former trust, if ever.

With all that's going on in my life that's not an acceptable situation. I need a rock-reliable car that doesn't need spannering every few days (as all have needed recently) to keep them good. I love spannering but electively, not out of absolute necessity.
Exactly the situation I found myself in Jim, the only difference being I can't spanner, electively or otherwise, and one trip a week to my Indy to sort a succession of issues on each XM made the option of leasing a new car cheaper each month, as well as taking an enormous source of irritation out of my life. Now all I need to do is dispose of one XM and the other might be kept as an indulgence.

I took delivery of my C1 on Friday. I did not expect to get it that quickly as I only ordered it on Wednesday and thought I was going to the dealer just to complete formalities. In the end I paid for it via Internet banking  Chris570 lives in the same locality as the dealer so between us we could get both cars home. Thanks Chris :-D

My first impressions with is that I'm very happy indeed. It's very basic but no worse for it, the seats are comfy and it goes like a rocket around town. One long trip has been completed and all satisfactory. I found it even has one very nice feature in common with an S1 (but not an S2) Xantia. 50 points to anyone who can identify what it is

The V6 is back on the road thanks to Chris supplying a replacement pipe. We fitted it on Thursday and the longest bit was cleaning up the engine bay. What a mess  Unfortunately the replacement was showing signs of failing in the same place (on the tee where the hydractive leakoff pipe joins) so I ordered a new one from the dealers. Good job I did...

Chris and I looked at my Activa next and we both decided the replacement driveshaft was not happy so we got a CV boot kit and rebooted the old one. Thank goodness for cones!!! New driveshaft fitted and still the same so next time we swap wheel bearings.

Saturday morning PavlosV6 calls to report his V6 Xantia has a bad LHM leak. We took a look and found.... Guess What?

Yep, his had exactly the same problem as mine. Not long after finding this the dealer called to say my new pipe was in so we hared off in the C1 to pick it up and fit it to his. He was lucky in that the tee had not completely let go as mine had so not such a mess but it was bad enough!

Pavlos has ordered me a replacement for mine.

Back to work now so hopefully normality will resume. These past two weeks have been anything but... Happy, it is looking like what has been preoccupying me for a while and causing me to do much mileage may be in the process of becoming resolved.

I feel like I'm going back to work for a rest. These two weeks have been absolutely mad..

I'll be catching up as best I can in the next day or so as I'm behind on all the news on here again :(

I'll be doing a for sale ad for the XM in the next few days. Open to offers from a guide price which will be discussed only via PM. The XM is currently SORN.

Oh Jim! You have given me such a dilemma. My 2.1 is all serviced and shiney ready for a new MOT this week, and you have gone and put the worst kind of temptation in my way. I said to Chris (Andrews) today that tjhe only thing that could tempt me to part would be a V6, but there are none about. Need to think... Brain hurts...
