wanted: driver's side front wing and speed sensor

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

Yup, not sure he has any XMs now though. He does have a number of CX Turbos though!

Correct.

He cleared ALL his XM out. He has two xantias, and a number of CX, but he is also selling his two Xantia V6's now, and a couple of CXs...

He has a MANUAL V6 Xantia too which he converted himself!

the car has a scruffy overall appearance
I am sorry Graeme but are we talking about the same car I sold you! Although I accept there were some small dents in the front wing upper surface the bodywork otherwise was very good!! Those dents could have been easily removed by a good bodyshop and I am getting a similar job done on one of cars this weekend. With regards, Matthew T.

That is a shame Graeme and I wish some of my other cars were comparable. I think I showed you the small dents in my 24v wing that have now been successfully removed. Regards, Matthew T.

But it's improving daily! All I need to make the bodywork acceptable is to sort the wing out. I've managed to tighten up the gearchange on it so it's feeling a lot better. I really am keen on getting the Hydractive fixed though but it's all in the pipeline!

What did you do to achieve that? Literally found not-fully tightened bolts in the linkages?

Thanks
George

No George, it's a whole series of worn clearances on all the contact points. The main one I found is the little ball joint that slots in the notch at the end of the main selector on the gearbox (it can be seen with the near side front wheen off and wheel arch liner. It seems to get a serious bit of play in it over the years. I didn't tighten anything - it was all tight! No, I made a set of spring shims and slotted them into either side of the notch of the selector. It's the Left-right movement of the gearstick that improves with this.

It doesn't perfect it but does improve it.

Thanks very much -sorting my gearchange is one of 2-3 strategic  issues I want sorted this summer. Quite some play in mine too.
