To mudflap or not to mudflap....?

Off topic chat about anything you like. Doesn't have to be about XMs (though they will inevitibly come up!). You can even discuss non-Citroens :o in here!

Can't remember whether there were two types of genuine Citroen mudflap available: rigid and flappy. I have the rigid ones, and think they look the part.
There are indeed two types, or three if you include the earlier better quality flexible mudflaps (badged 'Citroen XM'). The rigid type are more robust but the fixings corrode badly are almost impossible to remove without damage. I am also in favour of mudflaps for the practical reasons already given, plus I think they also nicely finish off the car, although I would only fit original flaps. Regards, Matthew T.

That's what I have on mine at the front at the moment - not had a good dig around the arch yet but can confirm that the sills and lower doors are much cleaner on the side with.

So long as you make sure to keep the area around the mud flap mountings clean and don't park too close to kerbs then mudflaps are fine.

There were none on the car Citroen tested for drag in the wind tunnel.
