I would like to say no, that is my V6 24V ,..... However you are correct. It is Mr Thomas's 24V.

Sorry Vince I haven't posted any pics yet. I have some, just not got round to it.

I used normal satin black paint. Holts infact. Use an etch primer after a little rub down with some fine wet and dry. Then I use a panel wipe cloth to degrease, then the black. Come up a treat.

Yes I know, grill is missing and the side light. Took them out to do bumper swap... Thought the nose cone had to come off, only to find you don't need to do that. Ahem!



I'll get some better ones at some point. I really need to do a good clean and polish. Get her sparkling.

Well I have had a very productive day today. All in preparation for next weekend. Started with finishing of the new bumper. Clear coat went on today and has come up very well. I resprayed my old grey bumper as the body coloured bits were in great condition. So a good flat back and some minor repairs, it is now Mandarin and looking very glossy. I used paint mixed by Mikes recommendation of Middletons in Gloucester. The paint match is very good. I have also painted the caps above the rear windows. And they look so much better.

So the bumper is curing for now and will be put on the car probably Wednesday at some point. It will need polishing up to look its best.

Apart from that little job, I replaced the glovebox with my old one and took the working gas strut of the Mandarins original box. The catch on my old car was good, so that was put on, so now for the first time ever, I have a properly working glovebox. and it wasn't too difficult to swap over either.

Then as I was on a roll, I replaced the drivers side wingmirror. It had obviously been hit at some point and was glued back on. Not a great looking fix, but it had worked well. So that came off and a replacement one popped on. Bit better to look at. And both mirrors are now clear and not cloudy. The blue tint had gone bad and it looked a little strange.

But I have discovered a curious fault which has baffled me a bit. When you unlock the car no interior lights come on at all. Then, with the key in the ignition ...turned on of course, you get a flash of the interior lights which then fade out. Then from there on in, the puddle lights ect all work fine. Open the door, interior lights come on... Fade out ect. Exactly as meant to. But I have noticed that I am not hearing the clunk of the Electrovalve. I did the usual test and you can hear a faint buzz, which after 30 secs just stops. No clunk. Have been noticing the car has been a bit firm recently too. I could try my spare ECU which is the most obvious thing to do I suppose. The fuses seem fine. But strange the interior lights and possibly the suspension are playing up. Are they likely to be related?

under the dash sort of behind the parking brake lever theres a BLUE box. This controls the interior lighting and timing etc.

swap it from your old girl as you know that works. If the problem persists its on the manderin car somewhere.
