On a deadlocked Mk2 the finger pull method does not work.
Guess how I know.
Ideal time to replace the rusty fixing bolts with stainless steel ones.

Had the 24v out this sunday for a little drive out.... but a niggle appearing..

The ABS light was having a field day.. it was on off on off on.. then stayed on, but every time I braked it went out!!

So I decided we needed to read the ECU with Lexia..

Firstly though, was the dire need AGAIN to tighten the HP Pump belt! They seem to stretch easilly. I can see why they switched to flat ribbed with spring tenioner for the Xantias!! Anyway, managed that after a short while, then got Lexia out..

One or two solinoid errors there, though all are intermittend, I wonder if its just a bad connection to the Block or something..

I also had a look at the Hydractive ECU... Though currently the steering wheel angle sensor is not fitted due to a temperary colum swap.. it was NOT in bad shape at all!

Its STILL a joy to just "Plod" along at 60 in her too!!!

Sure you will fix that but having said that, rather you than me. I am so happy I see no orange lights at all and even the ABS worked last night when braking hard (and I mean really hard) for a sheep that was just curious to see if I would stop or not...and then for a torn off tree part on the road. Still think the XM has a long braking distance compared to smaller cars I was used to....

Weight Jaap. XM's are heavy cars... so more to stop. My theory anyway. I kind of know what you mean.

This morning after the lexia session and clearing the faults the drive into work gave me no abs light after the usual flicker test.. so see how long that lasts..

I beleve the faults are all linked the abs block electronic board thats mounted on it with a number of plugs..

see how she goes..

Paul,

I think you are right to target those green board connectors once you see what the next read gives.

If you mean the black relay above the valve block I agree that may be the cause of your problems Paul as I had a persistent ABS fault with one of my cars which was cured after replacement! With regards, Matthew T.
