Citroen BX owners are just catching up with the fact that the XM is simply superior in every single way!

I still am of the opinion that a CX, for me, is a better Citroen in every way than an XM.
Also use a 190k n/a diesel BX as the daily. XM's have their place

Sorry, couldn't help it.

I own both and each as it's own merits. The XM is perfect for long distance cruising, whilst the BX - with it's 160 bhp - is ideal for traversing Alpine passes and sounding glorious through Swiss tunnels.

Re: Dollywobbler's 1995 S2 2.1 TD SX Manual
Home safely after an 80 mile drive home in atrocious weather. Wow! Having leapt out of an NA diesel BX (a friend kindly gave me a lift) into the XM, the difference is staggering! Dieselman's XM allowed me to feel how keen the XM is when it comes to cornering, but I feel I can only really get a shift on in my own car. I don't like to thrash someone else's car. The way the XM turns in is just uncanny! Even in the rain.
It's a truly excellent car for the money, though there are some things to focus on. Strut tops show sign of surface corrosion and the car seems to steam up very readily. The control for incoming/recirculating air is broken, so I'm hoping the problem is related to this and not a leaky heater matrix. I seriously need to get some Rain-X on the side windows too. In heavy rain, I could barely see out! I also need to get the sills tickled with a welder.
Pictures to follow later.

Some piccies. Some windscreen wiper alignment is badly needed. Passenger arm is already catching the scuttle though. Odd.

Quite a clean old thing really.

It does steam up a bit. Perhaps this isn't helping.

Needs a SERIOUS valet in here. Ex-smoker. He also clearly didn't dust very often.

What is the temperature showing here? Is it coolant? If so, it seems to spend a lot of time sitting about there. Reads 70-75 on the gauge, rises up to just over 90 as it should at times. Never over.

Great looking car Ian, well done. Looks like a bargain.
The temp read out is outside temp. The sensor is located under the passenger wingmirror. They often play up. Mine on my old XM used to read 158 degrees. Very optimistic of it!

Cool. I'll just ignore it then. Looks like the previous owner actually taped over it. Nice solution!

Re: Dollywobbler's 1995 S2 2.1 TD SX Manual
Adjusting the wiper positions has made all the difference.

I think the passenger one may be a little high, but it was catching the scuttle before. Have been hoovering the interior and wiping surfaces to try and get rid of the ciggy smell. Not entirely successful so far.
