But S1 cars had to have the PRV! You just have to listen to the engine growl on them, and what use is engine growl if you cant hear it!

The ESJ in S2 cars is far quieter, so is well suited to the quieter car...

There must be something about Barnstable, that's where I bought my white estate - which may be back on the road in a week or two.

It should be a rather nice metalic green. But only some of it is now.
Here are some more pics of it.

As you can see it was absolutely filthy.
Spent most of yesterday afternoon cleaning tree and field off it.
Unfortunately it was very dark when I finished but I'll take some more pics next week.

I can see me looking for another better condition mk1 or 1.5 td now to replace my mk2.

S1s getting hard to find. I was lucky to come across two 2.1 td manuals last year and fixed both up and sold them. One still is on here belonging to Vince the other I sold but bought back again ... id done head gasket and clutch in it. Its in grey too..

Is your green a dark green or a lighter sort of forest green moss type of colour? I ask as I have a bonnet in good knick in the forest moss sort of green at the farm with no laquer lift either... colour code is behind below the passenger headlight below the glow plug black box under the wires and muck..

That will scrub up nicely. Bit of paint here and there maybe, bit of trim replenishing... it will look good. :)

It looks a little more of an emeraldly green rather than forest. Nice colour.

This is how it looks after yesterdays cleaning.
I've yet to attack the outside with tfr and shampoo as it got dark. Just pressure washed all the mud off for now.
I was pleased with how the engine bay cleaned up.

Paul if you do have a bonnet that is the correct colour that would be great. I saw the paint code whilst cleaning, shall post it up on Monday.
I fear it will be the darker green though.

Russ if I was to keep it I'd end up repainting the whole car

I know the feeling. Do one bit and easily you could end up repainting the whole car.
But...That just looks like a bonnet, nose cone and wings job. He says!!

That's looking great though already. Nice engine bay job. You know what I am going to say now.... I have a set of engine bay stickers if your interested in finishing touches. :)
