LOL.
A 320 is about 197Bhp, and very pretty smooth. A great load lugger.
I've noted your post.

Re: Mercedes forum
it is fantastic - normal issue of needing a MAF sensor, which I used to haggle price down, just awaiting delivery from Euro car parts - £50 delivered.
176,000 miles, two owners from new (first was Mercedes Direct, then one private owner). Run out 320 cdi estate so the limited edition Avantgarde with Xenon lights - oh, the brightness, lol - 17in alloys and it does 43mpg on a run. 0-60 in 8.3 seconds (once the MAF is replaced) and 143mph top speed on the autobahn. COMAND fitted and working, even the sat nav, but no telephone, damn! It's the first car I have had bigger than an XM estate, both in and out ... More importantly, air con and no sunroof ...

Re: Mercedes forum
Make sure the MAF is a genuine Pierburg item, pattern ones are useless.
Stick a thread up on t'other side.

Re: Mercedes forum
Good luck Dieselman with your Mercs. Now, I like them Mercs! Especially the coupe's!. Might even buy one cheap if all else fails. I've driven an nineties E 300 auto and an 1996 ?? S 320 auto. I liked them, and never broke down in one of them. Which you DON'T want with VIP's on the back seat.
But....they weren't mine and they were taxi's. The did, survive the long hauls in mostly Western Ireland but the costs to keep them running, were very, very high. I, did not pay for that and was I very, very, very grateful for that.
Do not under estimate the (dealer) cost of driving Mercs. They also ate tyres here! But, again as said, they are good cars but not as good as I would have expected. Especially rust on the E was horrendous and shocks and tyres on the S type, were horrendous. Those electronic shocks costs a fortune (at the dealers) and suffer. Suffer very very badly on bad roads. They kept going wrong on this particular one I used to drive.
Still , I do like the Mercs so don't get me wrong. But I'll stick to those XM barges for now!

Lol, just had a look on there now WIll,
Someone wrote in response to "i dont know what correcting paint means" It's a phrase for men that need to get laid, but cannot.
Brilliant....and incidentally, true in most cases
I should add a page onto my site and title it "what is detailing"? With that response as a sole answer.....Brilliant

Re: Mercedes forum
Along with Volvos and Mercs, I keep on thinking of Alfas 166 (in V6). Plenty of 159s around, but it's got to be an 166 if it'll be. Anyone had one/heard of somebody? No one is talking of them -just people who are into Alfas. Less than £1k gets you lots of choice in what looks like a well sorted modern car. But is it? I bet it's the business where things break down so often, it makes you want to get rid of it within 6 months? Though my Fiat Coupe ownership didn't suggest so. Or are they simply overlooked by the market? Not even misunderstood, just overlooked? I guess a very real issue when owning one is the limited support/knowledge in the UK for the brand and the particular model more so?

Re: Mercedes forum
Hmmm, was just having a look at these 166 3l V6s specs. 22mpg mixed driving consumption, that's bad! My ES9 V6 (auto) manages 28mpg mixed, my (antiquated) V6 12v PRV (manual) did 23mpg with a bad L-sensor. Very fast car with 220bhp, but a deep pocket needed from day one...
