Eddie's has the mechanical ignition setup which is the norm for this age car, the flap style air Meter is the giveaway and no evaporative capture.

Ohh bloody hell I never noticed Robs had a missing Air Flow Meter... My 2.0i on G plate had an air flow meter, but Im sad to admit back then 10 years ago I took little interest in it.. like I would now!

These two will be interesting side by side at the next meeting ...

I will try to ensure that she is in a clean and tidy state for inspection!

Still hoping that all leave isn't cancelled for next week.

I have a large box of goodies ready to refresh the car with plus a good degrease and under bonnet clean. Closely followed by a session cleaning up and re-greasing all the electrical connectors!!!

When the anoraks have decided what is actually making my car go suck-bang-blow I would be interested to know if I have any immediate concerns!

Keep us updated with what you have aquired Rob, Ill try bring/find some stuff for you, but thats not as easy as it sounds, unless I can get it off one of the outside cars in the meantime!!

EVERYONE Elses cars always look tidier then my own, I do mechanical work, but sadly Im not a body person!

Dear all,

Fresh photos of the underside of the old gal.

Scroll to the end.

Small area of rot by front floor pan/sill junction. Centre box looking a bit worse for wear, currently deciding whether to weld it or replace it. At least I know why she is sounding a little throaty.

Lots of various fluids leaking is assorted places to keep the front subframe from rusting!

Overall needs a good clean, weld, rust kill and recoat with a decent under treatment.

New window regulator sourced along with replacement O/S mirror (casing fine but inner all floppy and seems to be missing important spring clips

), handbook obtained from previous owner. Rear parcel shelf soon to be resprayed black.

Outer black trim to be treated with C4 renovator (£22 for 15ml!!!!) before and after photos will be provided.

If any of the anoraks spot anything interesting please let me know!
