Selling off one (or bits

) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

I've heard similar stories about people who have bought cars from WHM before...
It certainly does sound like the condition of this one has gone down hill a fair bit since I sold it. She was in lovely condition when I parted with her bar a crease in the rear quarter panel. I believe the person I sold it to used it to commute in and out of the centre of London from Kent every day during the winter
Here's a link to my For Sale thread with pictures of it when I had it:

I wish you the best with the car and hope it lives up to expectations.
Regards
David.

Ah a previous owner! It has gone downhill considerably since you owned it and I have listed less than half the faults. I assumed buying from a citroen specialist it would be a well sorted car, especially as he ran it himself for a short time.
I need to sort the eml next and am struggling to find a wiring diagram for the fuel injection. With a diagram I can sort the wiring which I suspect is where the fault lies, there are quite a lot of bodged wires on and around the engine bay.I was an RTE for Renault for many years so am not worried about stripping the loom and repairing it.
If anyone knows where I can get a flip key(the infared one)as I only got the circuit board from the inside of the original, which with new batteries does appear to work, could you let me know,I have drawn a blank on ebay.Again as someone who breaks XM's you would have thought whm could have easily sorted this.
Thanks in advance for any help from the forum.

I normally hate the usual default green but that is one stunning looking XM.
A bit of a disappointing experience, especially when you're paying top dollar from an outfit like WHM, however I hope with a bit of TLC you can get it back up to the standard it was at when it was in David's care. Another gem saved, well done, and keep us updated on progress!
Regarding the key / plip enclosure, you say you've drawn a blank on Ebay, have you tried the French and German sites? They do show up occasionally. Failing that, someone here might have one if you post in Sales & Wants.
Welcome to our happy land!

REMEMBER: Make sure when you get the Key you ALSO get the roof reciver. XM Original Plippers are Hard Coded and not software re programmable. So get both items.
Specialists DO NOT mean the best of best. But thats all I can say on here...
Ebay rarely bring much S1 stuff up now, so we now have to rely on ads on here in the hope that the couple of Hoarders have more then one they will part with (sometimes me, but I need to do a FULL Inventry of my stuff before I sell anything else again)

I viewed the car at WHM on the earlier occasion it was for sale and the presentation was very poor, while I think the garage has just lost interest in the model and even more exotic variants! If further electrical info is required I suggest obtaining a copy of the Russek manual, which does have diagrams and is anyway quite a useful source of reference. With regards, Matthew T.

When I had wiring and electrical issues with a 24v here, Russaks was no more usefull to me then Haynes Joke book...
I think Russaks covers the engine, and thats about it. I think the wiring diagrams are for 12v engines. But Im not certain. however, amazingly, the book is here to me side at this moment.

There are several wiring diagrams included Paul and the Russek manual also covers hydraulics, steering, brakes, steering etc. for the 24v and other S1 models. A lot of the material in Russek appears to have been gleaned from the Citroen service sheets. I personally find both manuals quite useful at times and given the limited other options available!! Thanks for the replies guys , I have found a citroen technical bulletin on this forum with a lot of info on the fuel injection on the 24v, resistances through components etc, but it is a section of the citroen manual,I could do with the full manual or at least a copy. Someone must have one? The Haynes manual is a bout as much use as t#ts on a fish, it's full of "this is complicated, see your dealer" cobblers. With the correct info I can fix this great car. I came across a question on the car mechanics forum asking about basically the same faults as my car exhibits with the injection on a 24v xm, wonder if it was a previous owner?.the concerning bit is he said it only had the faults since a front end smash? Anybody know anything?

The Citroen XM workshop manual was published loose leaf with ring binders.
There were 6 Mk1 binders and 5 Mk2 ones.
A chief technician at each dealer was sent new pages as published with instructions to destroy obsolete ones.
There was a bit of variability with how well that re-paging was done.
There is a surprising lack of V6 pages.
I think I have a French manual that includes pages for the SFZ(Fenix3) and SKZ(Fenix4) engine wiring diagrams.
I will turn those out from the storage boxes when I am able.
Not going to be anytime soon.
