Nice, good choice! As for the vibration, apart from the obvious causes like wheel balancing and worn bushes, it can also be a sticking rear brake caliper. Good luck with the car!

Hi Andy and welcome to the forum.
Your car should have hydractive suspension, all UK cars did. Yours will be Hydractive 2. If it's a case of it not working then there is loads of information and advice on here to help you. First thing to check is the orange hydractive light. If it blinks on start up then it's working. If there is nothing then there is a fault. I think that's it!
I have a 2.1 SED auto with Bosch pump. I hope yours has too if your using veggie.
Do start a blog in the members section, and let's see some pics!

1995 M should have a Bosch pump but watch for pump seals.. most will be on the brink of needing replacment through age

Hi Andy,
My XM regularly does the Calne to Abingdon commute via the M4 and A34. If you see a white Series 1 then it is probably me!
I am heading up to the X Rally too.

Hi Rob
In my opinion not worth the effort even if you had an XM to test them on.
XM spares do not tend to sell easily or make much money.
NOS (new old stock) locks appear on ebay but seldom seem to sell.
Others on here may have a different opinion.

Hi Rob,
John is right. They have little value. You best bet is to ensure they go to a good home and that you can cover your postage plus a pint of ale to ease the pain
Please don't throw them away. You can try Ebay but don't plan a holiday on the proceeds!
Alternatively stick them in the Sales and Wanted section on this forum.
A couple of pictures always helps.
Good luck
