That is rather bad, I take it you don't know who and how? Really irritates me this (as you know). A guy who works for me bought a new C3 vtr when they first came out and that was keyed 3 times in as many months, he never did repair the last bout of damage, lost heart.
I've owned a few dogs of cars in my time, they never got damaged but every half presentable car has always been damaged by others, I came out of tesco once to find some proper Essex girl using the bonnet of the xm to rest her boxes of shopping on as she took the bags out to put them in her RRover, took the boxes out of the trolley to line them up on the xm bonnet mind for what reason I don't know, still annoys me now.
Hope you can get it out, the front looks like it will polish but the rear quarter looks deep, will require some effort as Will suggested in my blog maybe. Such a shame I do feel for you.

Re: Fakemobile XM
It is hard not to get very upset about something which is after all only a bit of metal, but it's MY bit of metal! Thanks for the sympathy, most has gone with careful hand polishing, when I get the DA out for my C4, I'll give that a go as well. I expect a paintless dent remover chap could get the rest of the dent out, but i don't feel like spending the money at the moment.

Re: Fakemobile XM
That's a very nice XM -black suits XMs very well I find, makes it so elegant.
I still remember how I found my bonnet badly dented on my then-pristine, freshly washed black V6, after I made the error to park in central Glasgow on a summer Saturday night -I hear you laughing already! I'm honestly affraid I'd have ended up in prison, had I witnessed this happenning. This was more than 10 years ago -imagine the trauma. This particular behaviour on cars just doesn't happen where I come from -be it for drunken or sober "fun", or for pure meanness. Lots of not-intended scraching/denting etc. from the daily city traffic, but not that other stuff. Still can't rationalise it.
On another occassion, I caught some school children ready to dump a large half-full paint can, that some builders had left, on the car. Just luckily popped at the spot literally 2 seconds before the paint was thrown on the car -the little bastard froze in position with the can lifted, and looked at me for a sec before dropping everything and runnning.
Did you not confront that "person" in Tesco Dean??
George

Re: Fakemobile XM
To some people a car is just a heap of metal with wheels that gets you from A to B. Your Tesco experience reminds me of what I endured long, long ago when I had just gotten my entry visa to Japan and bought a new Mazda Rotary Coupe. It was 1971. I had given a lift to some young women and when they got out of the car they put their handbags conveniently on the bonnet. The handbags/baskets had metal feet. I was new to this culture and could not say anything.Ooooh yes very much so, she didnt understand why i was miffed though, bit thick.
This is the car

These days, it's the women who have metal feet. Think yourself lucky!
