You may find that your local main dealer can source one on the shelf elsewhere Russ if not available in France! With regards, Matthew T.

If you can't get the 10mm rack gaiter, fit an 18mm one but cut the original small end off the existing one, leave that on the track rod, then ty-wrap the larger one over it.

Well it had to happen at some point. I'm now convinced willow brook farm is cursed..... The head gasket has gone.

Last time I go to a national rally.

Really sorry to hear that Russ.

Looking at Fbook tonight, mind, I am quite pleased I was unable to attend this year - there seem to have been a lot of dissatisfied members. I enjoyed last year but I had a lot to9 occupy me with changing cars over the week end. Do hope you can get sorted without any extra issues.

I'm taking the view Rob, at least it didn't end up like my grey one! I won't be going to anymore rallies in that part of the world for a long long time. It's just too risky!!

The rally was appalling, basically.
For a national, it was rubbish. So you had the right idea. I wish I had followed my own gut instincts! Still got to drive a cactus round the field and enjoyed that.

I had Robert from BL autos look at it in the end and he diagnosed it almost immediately. So I rang the RAC and got a lift home. It hasn't overheated and got worse, but you can't drive it either. He said it's most likely a split between a cylinder and a water jacket pipe. The exhaust gasses are pressurising the coolant. Hence why it's spitting out coolant. You can see the vapours too. It has a smokey look to it. No water in oil, or oil in water.... Yet!

Next step is to decide do I fix it, or do I swap engines. Decisions, decisions. Considering one is basically free, it's almost a non brainer. Almost.
