It hasn't ended yet! The guy backed out of returning my money within hours of offering it. There's still hope for my car yet, she just needs a sympathetic welder.

Any good mechanic will have some left over bolts and nuts Don't forget to put the right torques here and there on those nuts, you don't want to see it all shake loose ;)All will be ready soon for the first test drive!

haha! I think you're rather a long way away! I've started playing with my Rover 100.
A good wash down with Gtec 101, and then a good wax of the painted bits.
I'm wanting to try a product called "Never-wet" its alleged that nothing sticks to it and repeals water. It doesn't dry clear though.

DO NOT use a locking compound on the bottom joint, there is NO need to. I use a hammer and large punch to get it as tight as possible, then if you look at the HUB there are cut outs! These Cut Outs are there so you knock the EDGE of the joint into them, this is the "Lock" method to prevent unscrewing, rather like a hub nut on lesser model of cars on the rear drums etc..

Possibly a silly question, but I'm looking for a new RHS engine mount, the one that sits on the chassis leg. Found one for a pug 605 2.1. Would they be identical? I want to think so!
