The BBC have just reported that, although the heavy rainfall has temporarily backed off in Cumbria, certain areas of Carlisle are being kept under deep water because . . . when the recent flood walls were built, there was no facility included to . . . let the water OUT!
Words fail.

Never mind. Liz Truss is on top of things, so everyone will be all right.

I've done two days up there helping now and they are nearly back to some semblance of normality but still some are way off
Pity the air boxes in the xm aren't like the Xantia and can be easily flipped for some extra wading depth

When the water level in the cabin is lapping at your gentleman parts I think the last thing you want is more wading depth, what you need then is a boat!

Underwater Citroen electrics come pretty low on my Christmas list. Doesn't really bear thinking about!

I had to undo the airbox in my then new, Diesel and also took the, then new petrol pretty deep as well a couple of times.
The windows don't half mist up for some time afterwards, even after using a garage vacuum cleaner to suck 2" of water out of the footwells.

Mine was a V plate so maybe the rubber grommets were still soft and supple but i had no water inside
If i got the chance again i'd love to hack a drainpipe snorkle onto one with a working sunroof and see how deep it would go

It's a helluva way to get the sunroof to flip open . . .

Deep enough to hydraulic lock a Parcelforce Iveco Daily I pulled up alongside. It was pretty deep, well up the railings at the side of the road that time and another time in Weymouth several cars parked on the Quay were flooded and wrecked, but the XM even drove under the bridge.
