Flywheel for 2.1TD EPIC automatic

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

Yes, that's a good explination. The hollows are the triggers for revcounter only in Bosch pump engine. If you have manual transmission there might be cams instead of hollows. If you change the flywheel from model to the other (hollow to cam or vise versa) you need an adapter to the wires (or just mixed three wires to the right order).

Also A Bosch Electronic mechanical pump equpit car WONT RUN without this fly wheel!! The ECU needs the readings from the pickup sensor ontop of the gearbox to workout what the engine it dooing... it also drives the rev counter.. through the ECU..

I know, because I been here, I did an engine swap, on a 1998 S reg Xantia with an earlyer engine that was completely mechanical, even swapped gearbox's over and put it all in, fitted the Later pump with electronic shut off through immobiliser, and she would NOT go!

Id forgotton to swap flywheels and pickup sensors! Doh! Had to drop gearbox off in situ take clutch off, and swap flywheels over.. what fun! Never again...Did the job again with a P Reg 1997 car with Keypad code, BUT remembered to change the flywheel this time..

I dropped automatic transmission three times without taking it and engine away from the car. And still there is some strange noise when loading...

Now my friend is taking whole package to the table and check what is wrong. Meanwhile I drive BX which I got free from old cantor. I just needed to fix the cylinder head.

Hi!

Finally I desided to do something for finding the reason for strange noise and vibration. Yesterday's status of that project:

I have recerved an other maintenanced transmission and new flywheel for my Xm. Unfortenately that flywheel is from bosch pump engine. I have to do two extra hollows to the rim for EPIC timing.

Hi!

Now the pagage is back under the hood and works find biggrin.gif I got it done yesterday after a couple months project time...

Only problem left is ABS. There was some errors every now and then, before this big transmission change (sometimes ABS light stayed on). Now the light shakes a little bit when it should turn off but then stay on.

Any ideas?

If at switch on the light flickers then stays on that means the system is failing the self test.
Check the sensor resistances to determine if one or more of the sensors is the problem.
Before you replace any defective sensors check the wiring , particularly any plugs and sockets.
