As a work around, I think you can simply disconnect the pipe between the boost pressure compensator on the pump and the intake manifold. Plug each end too. That way, there is no path for fuel to leak into the intake manifold. The car will drive rather like a 2.1D though instead of a TD. Steve

It costs a bloody fortune to get a pump refurbished; I'd rule everything else out first.

Good, not sent scrap all the way up north then. Don't forget it got laid up for the unpredictable water leak back of the engine, perhaps pipe, and I can't vouch for there being a useful amount of antifreeze in there. I'll send you an email at some point about the odd bits I still have here that I didn't pull together in the hour before it went.

the inlet pipe!! So the over fueling device diaphram has been away for a while for the intercooler to be full.. so ive advised ray pump off refurd and she be good after its drained out!
That fuel has been in there for years so no great loss and good to clean the inside of the intercooler! All very odd, it is the sort of thing I would have noticed before laying up. At least it is a warning for others to keep an eye out, as I said when it first ran away it was very alarming.

Yesterday we removed the (very fiddly) boost compensator diaphragm and replaced with a second hand one that was lying around, it ran fine for a few minutes, no hunting up and down but alas it started leaking again, upon removing the diaphragm we found that that too had split. A new replacement is being sought.

That was an error mate. Bought that and it is for a different pump!
Currently waiting for some diesel specialists to get get back to me after giving them the pump number.

It must be possible!

Did this diaphragm have a Cit part number? Worth my asking in France when I visit end of the month? When the filter priming membrane split on this (your) car the French Citroen dealer told me the price of the Cit repair, I looked sad then they arranged a bargain membrane replacement at short notice from somewhere round the corner. If you want me to ask do you have a diagram so I can point and do my gallic shrug? Shrug and handshake when arriving and leaving being more important than part numbers.
