Selling off one (or bits

) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

Yes it is, but
(a) It's probably exactly as PSA intended, and
(b) It's all too easy to think that a new car will stay that way ('After all they don't rust these days, do they?'). Thus it's the original owners who decide the car's fate bodywise. Waxing and so forth often comes too late.

Last call for parts requests!
I will be going to the X-Rally so can bring bits along.
More progress yesterday striping the car. When Mathew said he would like to lay claim to the sills I didn't realise quite how much of the sills he had in mind!
It certainly gave the angle grinder a good workout.
I will be organising collection by the scrap man soon, but many bits are still available including the engine!

Wow. You definitely not wasting your time Dave. Wandering if brake calipers are the same on 2.1 and 2.5? Is drivers side quarter window still available? I've send you small update on parts request. Hope you'll be able to bring all parts with you on Sunday. Maybe next time just bring car on trailor with You and put advert as sellf service parts store

Looking at those recovered cills, I can understand why Matthew is smiling.
Whilst in cutting mode, it's worth recovering the rear quarter windows, the trims and the windscreen and trims.

It was a very impressive and epic undertaking by Dave to remove the sills, which may be useful in the future and the experience also proved instructive! I did wonder about recovering the glass that could be arranged with a local screen fitter I guess. The fuel pump and struts are to be recovered Paul, but I fear the engine and box may need to be removed and collected by others! In relation to the front doors Paul I wonder if you would be interested to have both? With regards, Matthew T.

Sad state of affairs for this once great marque where we're chopping sills out of 20yo cars to preserve others.

It seemed a shame to see them wasted Neil and the removal exercise also brought much useful knowledge. There have been two previous occasions when I have had to purchase sections of sill from a scrap yard to repair cars that proved quite expensive. If I do not use the material hopefully someone else will benefit. With regards, Matthew T.

Hi mathew.
Yes, in that case I can offer BOTH doors in return in Bronzey browny type colour.... That would be fine. Did you also keep the rear doors out of interest?
Shame for a good autobox to be lost.... Im way to far away as you know!

That sounds good about the front doors Paul and I do also have the rears if you are interested! It is sad about the box as you say and I do wish I could help. With regards, Matthew T.
