Citroens new suspension revealed

Revealed on a Cactus prototype. It sounds promising, especially the new seat design.

Well done Citroen. I hate the jittery ride in modern cars

Our RAV4 is a good example of a ride which is really quite good when the car is loaded light/medium (eg two-up), but is pretty unforgiving on extremely bumpy ground with 4-up, when the bump stops come into play. It has some pretty short, single-coil rear springs which doesn't help. These provide oodles of extension (good at keeping all four wheels on the ground) but not much compression travel.

Interesting write-up, Russ. I bet Citroen had to go on bended knee for the funding for this modest-looking research item, and to promise it would be "for the benefit of all"! They certainly need "an edge" now, or what's the point? Did I hear talk of a new PSA SUV recently?

The company nearly folds, sells out to the Chinese, then figures out it might just possibly be able to differentiate itself by going back to the biggest feature it was renowned for - comfort! Hope springs!
