Here are some photos of the timing set up and marks on my engine Dean that hopefully may be helpful! Regards, Matthew T.

Im not sure of exact dimensions yet, they are square section seals i think, i will try to measure them up when i get to it again.
I am not sure whether these are included in the gasket set Dean, such as the one highlighted by Paul. A 24v set I bought for a manifold gasket certainly has some very small fat round seals.
To run the engine out of the car i will stand it in a home made steel frame with a rad piped up, engine loom will be plumbed to power where required to liven up the ecu, the starter is easily activated and i have a spare fuel pump i can stand in an old lemonade bottle of fuel.
That is an ingenious idea and I would like to see the video, but is it really necessary if you are methodical about reassembly? I have rebuilt one and partly rebuilt another 12v engine with no major problems, but maybe I was just lucky!
With regards,
Matthew T.

12 small fat seals?

It depends how i feel at the time but the plan was to run it first before fitting to the car, it would be nice to be sure its ok but it does of course depend on what order things are done in.

The photos are very helpfull Mathew, i dissassembled the timing gear with the dimples aligned with the balancer shaft and front cam outer sprocket, there are marks on that chain from what look like factory as two links are anodised Gold and match with the dimpless on the sprockets.

Here is a photo of the seals included with my 24v head gasket Dean and I am pleased that the timing illustrations were helpful. There were no marks on the chains to my engine and the set up references I used were the Russek and Haynes Volvo 740/760 manuals and Citroen service sheets, which basically all agreed but presented the information differently! cant see any seals there that look small enough to be for the hydraulic tapetts.

No head gaskets coming now :( the order was cancelled as apparently although they had 15 for sale they dont exist...........

Adverts printed direct from the non OE manufacturers catalogues are common on ebay these days.
The arrangement the seller has is for supply of items direct to customer from the wholesaler.
Seller often holds no stock, has no idea of stock holding at wholesaler, just runs an ebay shop.
Order goes up the chain until they find none of the manufacturers have stock left or intend to make any more.
Then refund the customer and often do not even bother to remove the advert.

I suspected as much, i have now found a pair of headgaskets, OE thickness as the heads are flatter than a flat thing so i wont need to skim them, the +.2mm gaskets are easier to find.

Should be with me in a week (fingers crossed) for £23 each which isnt bad, we shall see if they arrive!

Just a quick note to say that if you want engine parts, seals gaskets right up to wiper blades then you have to try http://www.Autodoc.EU" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
The packaging is second to none, the prices I thought fair and delivery was very quick, two very large boxes have just arrived by courier with my head and exhaust gaskets, left and right crank seal, both cam seals, valve stem seals and intake seals in perfect condition, not a jiffy bag that looks like it was taped to the wheel of a parcel force van and driven here.

Still not finished the bathroom though :(
