A V6?

The driver who brought it over said i was mad but it has the parts i need so what do you do, i now see why Paul had to part with it, the drivers sill actully fell off while lifting it off the lorry and the journey over shook off buts of chassis that look important, bits of metal with fixings on and rubber bungs in, there is no doubt this chassis is dead.

Nah, plenty left to patch.
None of the three engines dropped out during the lifting.

Right decision then Paul, if important bits of chassis were falling off!
It's a shame but sure the carcass it will have its uses.

Not updated for a while as ive not been feeling all too good and its very busy at work at the moment.
In the end i pulled the liners and piston assemblies while iwas going to all the other effort, this was a good call as the crank was a little rusty but mainly it was done to put new seals and shims in for the liners and reseal the two block sections so there would be no messing about, all back together now though and sump on, it was a very tedious job as is the one im currently doing, just got the rocker assembly to clean along with the million tiny oil ways, test the tappets and replace as required or as they break coming out  this is very expensive though (£17+ carriage is the cheapest ive found, most are £24+ each!) so im trying not to break them as you can imagine.

But at least its starting to look like an engine again!

Cant wait to get this head all done and back on, then i can start the other one and do it all again, at least there is no ballancer shaft on the other head through.............

I was sorry to hear you have not been well and too busy at work to progress matters Dean but it is good to see the engine going back together. On my current project it has just been possible to unite engine and gearbox with only a few small tasks before refitting in the car. I must say I admire your attention to detail and patience with all the fiddly bits!! With regards, Matthew T.

It is good to have the block in one peice and a cylinder head going on, bit annoyed one of the ballancer chain sprocket bearings will stall completion on this side as its knackered but i should have a new one by the time the other head is on.
A couple of extra pics of the head all cleaned, a sneaky little port work, new valve stem seals, lapped valves and just the cam seal to be fitted.

And the cleaning and checks finished for the day, only one tappet broken so far, DO NOT BLOW THEM OUT WITH COMPRESSED AIR, you will break the plastic retainer clip! looks better without rust all over it and i feel better knowing all the little cam lobe oilers are clean and clear, they seam to gum up rather badly.
